There are appointments available at various times such as mornings, lunchtimes and afternoons. We try hard to run to schedule but some problems require more time and occasionally you will have a short wait. You can make an appointment in a number of different ways (some need additional information/ID codes first, this is available from reception).
We operate an ’Advanced Access’ appointment system for the GP’s. The system is based upon meeting patient’s needs. Some patients need to see a GP because they have a problem that they are concerned about. It may be a minor problem that they have had for a while that has now become concerning or a ‘Medical Emergency’ situation. These patients ‘usually’ prefer to be seen today or quite soon.
Other patients need to pre-book their appointment because of other commitments (usually attendance at lectures or work), or just because they like to book in advance. Because of this 50% of our GP appointments can be pre-booked (usually early morning), the rest are available on the day and can be booked from 08:00 either at the desk or over the telephone.
When you make an appointment we will try and book you with a male or female doctor if you state your preference. This will not always be possible during vacation times.
Please be aware that ALL the doctor appointments are 10 minutes long, if this isn't long enough, please ask for a 'double appointment'. The doctor may ask you to make another appointment if you attend with more than one problem and the time you have booked isn't long enough.
Telephone consultations can be requested by contacting reception or completing the request on this website. You will need to give reception a telephone number you can be contacted on and you will be booked onto the appointment screen. The GP will then call you back for a consultation. The doctor may call you at any time so please keep your phone available.

New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)
Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.
If practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.
If you would like ot opt out of any future contact via text messaging, then please complete the form and indicate in the marked section.
The health centre may close at 13:00 for the afternoon on one Wednesday in each month and on Tuesdays 11:00-12:00 for staff training and development. If you require urgent medical attention and you find the surgery closed, please ring our usual number to contact the duty doctor. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you arrive 10 minutes late or more, the doctor/nurse will not see you.
