All our Patients have a named GP who is responsible for their overall care at the practice. We listen when Patients make us aware of their preference as to which GP that is. If you are registering as a new patient you will see an option to choose, you will also receive a text message giving you the GP’s name, alternatively you can contact the practice if you wish to know who this is.
In addition to GP consultations the practice operates a comprehensive range of clinics and healthcare services.

Due to a change in local contracts, you now need to return to the place where the stitches were inserted or ask reception for a referral to SPA if this is due to post operative wounds. Give as much notice as you can. We can provide this 'Privately' if you prefer to come to us.
Concerns related to drug abuse, alcohol consumption, diet, weight and other day to day anxieties are also issues on which the nurses are able to give guidance.
The taking of blood samples for blood tests is done every morning, Monday to Friday. You will be referred to this session by one of our GPs or practice nurses and you will need to make an appointment at reception.
If you are a student at the University and you wish to see a counsellor, telephone 0116 223 1780 to make an appointment with the Student Counselling Service.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. Please note we can only accep payment by card or the correct amount in cash.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse. Completion of this form may result in the first appointment being completed over the telephone.
Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe a very useful booklet has been published with advice and guidance to help you get the most out of your holiday. To visit please click:- http://ec.europa.eu/publications/booklets/eu_glance/86/en.pdf (this is a large document and may take a minute or two to view)
